When making homemade ice cream (without an ice cream maker & w/o rock salt) how can you prevent icy texture?

I thought my ice cream would have turned out great if it wasn’t for the fact that it was more like ice milk than ice cream. Was that due to the cheap plastic container I froze it in that prob caused freezer burn, or the ingredients (no eggs- just milk, half and half, salt, sugar & heavy cream)? Would cream cheese make a difference? Thanks!

what is the best way to freeze cooked chicken. not had much luck. even tried to get all the air out of bags?

It is so much cheaper to buy a whole chicken but i never use it all before it spoils and when frozen it comes out dry. As I said above, I have tried to get all the air out of bagging it because i know that causes freezer burn.

I'm thinking of buying a small chest freezer. How long can things stay good in a freezer and…?

What is the best thing to buy to put meats in, in order to keep them fresh in a freezer & prevent freezer burn? Would the Glad Freezer bags work or something else like that? How long will things stay good in the freezer? Can things be put in there like bologna, cheese, veggies, etc… or is it best to just stick to freezing certain things like red meats? I’ve never owned a bigger freezer before & I’d like to stock up on things when I see sales, but Im not sure if some things aren’t meant to be frozen. Any good advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
